Device description
The WHS9415 is a Qualcomm Aqstic™ hi-fi audio codec IC solution for
delivering best-in-class audiophile digital USB Type-C interface audio
applications. The device is fully compliant with the Android Audio
Headset, USB 2.0 specification and incorporates a microcontroller to run
the USB stack and support USB audio class (UAC) devices. On-chip
power management autonomously powers up the entire device in the
event that a voltage is detected on VBUS. A highly efficient power
converter and Class-H amplifier controller minimize device power
consumption and maximize audio playback time.
The WHS9415 is equipped with one hi-fi ADC channels to provide
high-performance mono audio recording up to 24-bit/192 kHz with
105 dB dynamic range and -95 dB THD+N, stereo 5-band equalization
playback processing, and multibutton headset control (MBHC) for smart
accessory detection for a dongle application.To deliver the best-in-class
audiophile headset solutions, the Qualcomm Aqstic stereo hi-fi DAC
channel is embedded with a low-power Class-H stereo headphone
amplifier to support up to 32-bit, 352.8 kHz/384 kHz PCM and
DSD64/DSD128 audio formats with a dynamic range of 122 dB and
THD+N of -106 dB. The WHS9415 device integrates a low jitter PLL to
support native 44.1 kHz family sampling rate audio playback, and one
microphone bias output for powering the headset voice microphone.
The highly integrated WHS9415 device reduces the cost of external
components, simplifies the design cycle for quick time-to-market, and is
the ideal solution for designing low-power, ultrasmall form factor USB
Type-C digital audio applications.
